 | Billy Sample to Miss 9-10 Months
Thursday, June 4th, 1981: The Texas Rangers will have to make do without the services of left fielder Billy Sample for a while. He was injured running the bases today in a game against Minnesota and suffered a ruptured medial collateral ligament. Nevertheless, team officials say the injury isn't too serious and we should see Sample 100% healthy within 9-10 months.
This year Sample has hit at a .272 pace and produced 21 RBIs, 2 home runs and scored 18 runs. | |
