One of the Texas League's most coveted honors is the TEX MVP. When the votes were tabulated, the 2015 recipient was the standout right fielder of the Tulsa Drillers, William Chell.
He starred this season with a .344 batting average, 172 hits, 34 home runs, 105 RBIs, .430 OBP and 112 runs scored.

Gordon Dewar finished off a fine season by taking home the Texas League TEX Pitcher of the Year today.
The Tulsa hurler went 19-6 on the year, posting a 3.16 ERA. Dewar also tallied 225 strikeouts in 208 innings and allowed opposing batters to hit only .241 against him.

"This is why we play the game," commented Corpus Christi's manager after his club captured their 2nd Round 1 crown by whipping the Tulsa Drillers 7-4 today at Whataburger Field.
"Baseball don't get any better than this."
The Hooks were victorious 3-2 in the series after completing the regular season 66-74 and finishing in third place in the South Division.
The losing manager had his say, too, telling reporters, "Despite the loss, this year has been a pretty good story, a doggone good story. I'm proud of my guys. We had great veteran leadership and we had players that never gave up -- no quit in us at all. And it got us here. And I'm proud of that. I think you might see the Drillers back here soon."
