Tuesday, October 6th, 2015: Sean Pierce Named CAL's Best Hitter
Sean Pierce, the talented Bakersfield third baseman, certainly made his name known among California League hurlers this season. He hammered them for 169 hits, 38 doubles, 3 triples, 16 home runs, 83 RBIs and scored 68 times. That kind of output made him the choice for California League CAL MVP for 2015.
Sunday, September 13th, 2015: Visalia Triumphs in Round 1
It was Visalia and Bakersfield challenging one other in the 2015 California League Round 1 this season. On paper, there wasn't much difference between the two strong ballclubs, but on the field, the verdict went to the Rawhide.

It was the 4th for the new league champions. They defeated the Blaze 3-1 in the series, winning the last game today by a 9-2 score.

The new champs finished the regular season 92-48 and claimed first place in the North Division pennant race.
Tuesday, August 25th, 2015: 21-Game Streak Ends, Lyons Hitless
There was double misery today for the Blaze Clarence Lyons as he saw his 21-game hitting streak end and his team lose 3-0 to Rancho Cucamonga at Sam Lynn Ballpark. The 21-year-old shortstop was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Quakes.

Lyons is batting .346 this year with 7 home runs, 60 RBIs and 91 runs scored. He has 178 hits in 515 at-bats.
