| Breaking News | | Monday, September 7th, 2015: Cannon Torches Storm for 5 Hits It was a hits blitz for Eugene Cannon at Arrowhead Credit Union Park. The Inland Empire 66ers shortstop tore into Lake Elsinore for 5 hits in 5 at-bats to pace the 66ers to a 9-2 victory and wrote his name into the baseball record book.
The manager for the Storm bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Cannon, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game."
E. Cannon hit an RBI single in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run triple in the 4th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
This year Cannon has hit 6 home runs and posted a .203 batting average. | | Wednesday, July 29th, 2015: Quakes Phillips Dominates Storm Phil Phillips, the 25-year-old Rancho Cucamonga hurler, tamed the Lake Elsinore Storm 3-0 at The Epicenter today. He limited them to 5 hits while fanning 6 and walking 1.
This season to date Phillips has a record of 6 wins and 7 losses with a 3.82 ERA, has appeared in 15 games and struck out 55 in 101.1 innings. | | Saturday, July 18th, 2015: Storm Snap Williams's Streak at 25 The Lake Elsinore Storm did something to Martin Williams no team had done for the last 25 games -- they held him hitless and stopped his consecutive-game hitting streak. But they didn't stop the Quakes. Rancho Cucamonga came away with a 7-6 victory at The Epicenter.
Commenting on the demise of the streak, the 24-year-old center fielder told BNN, "Hey, I knew it wasn't going to last forever, but it was a good ride while it lasted."
In the current season, Williams has put up a .333 batting average with 60 hits, 1 home run, 19 RBI and scored 26 runs. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | P Armando González | torn labrum (Shoulder) | 5-6 months | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 47-93, .336 PCT | | Position in Division | 5th, 35.0 GB | | Record at home | 24-46, .343 PCT | | Record on the road | 23-47, .329 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 7-7, .500 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 19-21, .475 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 11-20, .355 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 36-73, .330 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 1-9, .100 PCT | | Record in April | 13-7, .650 PCT | | Record in May | 9-20, .310 PCT | | Record in June | 9-17, .346 PCT | | Record in July | 8-21, .276 PCT | | Record in August | 7-22, .241 PCT | | Record in September | 1-6, .143 PCT |
