It was tremendous day for Mitch Lambshead, who went on quite a hitting spree with a 5 for 6 barrage.
The Clinton shortstop told reporters after his big 5-hit performance, "I don't have any buzz words. I'm not 'dialed in' or 'in a zone,' as they say. As far as the hitting goes, I try to keep it simple. I try not to look into it too much. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then try to hit it. Today I picked up the spin very well."
M. Lambshead singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off C. Martin in the 9th.
In 2015 Lambshead is batting .257 with 3 home runs. | | Friday, June 12th, 2015: Marroquín Fashions Shutout Against Lumber Kings The Lumber Kings manager was philosophical after his team was shut out by the Beloit Snappers 9-0.
"It was just one of those games, shake it off and do better next time," he said.
Salvador Marroquín blanked them on 2 hits with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs. They were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Marroquín said.
"I set them up pretty good, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
This season to date Marroquín has a record of 10 wins and no losses with a 1.48 ERA, has appeared in 13 games and struck out 111 in 97.1 innings. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 66-74, .471 PCT | | Position in Division | 6th, 33.0 GB | | Record at home | 33-37, .471 PCT | | Record on the road | 33-37, .471 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 5-5, .500 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 20-24, .455 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 12-12, .500 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 54-62, .466 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 6-4, .600 PCT | | Record in April | 12-9, .571 PCT | | Record in May | 13-16, .448 PCT | | Record in June | 12-14, .462 PCT | | Record in July | 16-13, .552 PCT | | Record in August | 8-20, .286 PCT | | Record in September | 5-2, .714 PCT |
