Pedro Rivera of the Kannapolis Intimidators blanked Asheville 9-0 on 3 hits. He rang up 10 strikeouts, keeping batters off balance all day long.
In 32 starts this season Rivera has crafted a 21-4 record with a 2.32 ERA.

 | Monday, August 24th, 2015: Joseph Earns SALLY Player of the Week
A red-hot bat made Rich Joseph the obvious choice for this week's South Atlantic League Player of the Week.
The Asheville center fielder laid down some numbers that no one else could match, including a .435 average, 10 hits in 23 at-bats, 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and 11 runs scored. Say no more... he got the award.
Joseph is presently hitting at a .312 pace with 8 home runs and 56 RBIs. He has played in 101 games and scored 75 times.

 | Sunday, August 16th, 2015: 22-Game Streak Ends, Thompson Hitless
Asheville brought George Thompson's hitting spree to a screeching halt today in its 7-1 victory over Savannah at Grayson Stadium. The Tourists mound staff snapped the 23-year-old third baseman's hitting streak at 22 games. Thompson failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats to end it.
In the current season, Thompson has put up a .273 batting average with 136 hits, 2 home runs, 41 RBI and scored 49 runs.
