| Breaking News | | Tuesday, September 15th, 2015: Eugene Crowned Champions You could hear the cheering all over Eugene as the Emeralds secured the final out of a 8-2 win over the Spokane Indians to capture the 2015 Northwest League Round 1 3-1. It was the 3rd time in the team's history to win it.
"The Indians are a good ballclub," said the winning skipper, "We had to play at our best to beat them."
"Anytime you make big plays, it changes the momentum of the game," the losing manager said. "The Emeralds made 'em and we didn't -- end of story."
During the season the new champs compiled a 41-35 record in the West Division and finished in first place in the standings. | | Saturday, September 5th, 2015: Smith 5-5 for Eugene It was a great day at the plate for Scott Smith of the Eugene Emeralds. He had the perfect delivery. The good fastball. The nasty curve. The batters mumbling and muttering when they swung and missed. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it. In an unforgettable performance the 22-year-old Campbell fanned 16 strikeouts Emeralds and sparked the Spokane Indians to a 7-4 victory over Eugene.
His catcher commented, "I don't think I have seen him throw better. His location and command were really something."
In addition to his 16 strikeouts, Johnson allowed 6 hits and 1 walk in a superlative outing.
His manager added, "It's a manager's day off when you get pitching like that."
The Eugene skipper had no comment that was printable in the newspaper.
This season in no relief appearances Campbell has thrown 97.2 innings and collected no saves. His won-lost record is 8-0 with a 1.94 ERA. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | P Bernard Jackson | back spasms | 8 months | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 41-35, .539 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 20-18, .526 PCT | | Record on the road | 21-17, .553 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 2-2, .500 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 7-8, .467 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 11-11, .500 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 30-24, .556 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 6-4, .600 PCT | | Record in June | 6-3, .667 PCT | | Record in July | 14-16, .467 PCT | | Record in August | 16-12, .571 PCT | | Record in September | 5-4, .556 PCT |
