Saturday, September 5th, 2015: Smith 5-5 for Eugene
It was a great day at the plate for Scott Smith of the Eugene Emeralds. He collected 5 hits in 5 tries, but his club still came up short in the win column. The Salem-Keizer Volcanoes racked up the victory, topping the Emeralds by the score of 12-9.

S. Smith singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off J. Unknown in the 9th.

This season Smith has 4 home runs and a .336 batting average.
Saturday, August 15th, 2015: Nelson Goes on Rampage Against Indians
21-year-old Salem-Keizer right fielder David Nelson had a big day with the bat at Volcanoes Stadium today against the Spokane Indians. He cracked 6-for-7 and led the Volcanoes to a 5-3 triumph over them.

D. Nelson singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off R. Romanelli in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th, singled in the 10th, struck out in the 12th and hit a two-run home run off J. Bramlett in the 14th.

Nelson is hitting at a .341 mark this season. His stats show 2 home runs, 13 RBIs and 44 runs scored. He has played 50 games for the Volcanoes.
