| Breaking News | | Friday, September 25th, 2015: Players Suspended in Red Sox-Blue Jays Donnybrook There were a few hotheads at the Boston-Toronto game at Fenway Park II yesterday, but the cooler heads prevailed and kept fisticuffs to a minimum. It all started when Eddie Hickman of the Red Sox and Thomas Vessella of the Blue Jays apparently exchanged some verbal unpleasantries and rushed at one another and began wrestling on the ground. Both benches emptied, but didn't get involved other than a little shoving. Order was quickly restored, the two instigators were ejected by the umpires and the game continued.
The league office took quick action and today announced that both players would be suspended 4 games for inappropriate on-field behavior.
Hickman is batting .192 this year with 17 home runs, 57 RBIs and 73 runs scored. He has 98 hits in 511 at-bats.
This year Vessella has a 11-9 record with a 4.24 ERA. | | Tuesday, August 25th, 2015: Seattle Shuts out Red Sox, Maholm Winner Paul Maholm shut 'em down and shut 'em out, hurling Seattle past Boston 14-0 in a complete game victory.
He told BNN sportswriters in the postgame interview, "This is a game of adjustments and I made some good ones in this game."
Maholm held the Boston Red Sox without a run, tossing a 4-hitter while walking 5 and fanning 9.
This year Maholm has a 13-10 mark in 30 starts with a 3.23 ERA. He has given up 185 hits in 197.2 innings, struck out 149 and issued 42 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .242 batting average against him. | | Monday, August 24th, 2015: Week's Premier Player: Boston's Aybar At the age of 32, Willy Aybar might have some potential he hasn't realized yet -- if his success at the plate last week is any indication. The Boston third baseman put up some exceptional numbers the past seven days collecting the American League Player of the Week Award.
He racked up 15 hits in 28 at-bats, 5 home runs and 11 RBIs last week in 7 games.
So far this season Aybar is hitting .313 with 21 home runs. | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 68-94, .420 PCT | | Position in Division | 5th, 31.0 GB | | Record at home | 43-38, .531 PCT | | Record on the road | 25-56, .309 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 2-5, .286 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 19-13, .594 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 22-43, .338 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 46-51, .474 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 2-8, .200 PCT | | Record in April | 6-14, .300 PCT | | Record in May | 14-15, .483 PCT | | Record in June | 12-16, .429 PCT | | Record in July | 13-12, .520 PCT | | Record in August | 15-13, .536 PCT | | Record in September | 7-21, .250 PCT | | Record in October | 1-3, .250 PCT |
