Hochevar has pitched 152.1 innings and molded a 5.38 ERA with no saves. He has surrendered 167 hits while registering 117 strikeouts on his way to a 6-16 record for the Padres this year. |  | Thursday, September 24th, 2015: Aguilera on Fire: 5-5 for Chicago (N) "It was like I was hitting little league pitching," said Roberto Aguilera after his 5-hit performance against the Rockies. "No offense meant to Colorado, but it was like I was back in little league again. I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid league park, it was Wrigley Field."
The Chicago (N) left fielder had a fantastic day at the plate, knocking out 5 hits in 5 at-bats and pacing his club to a 8-7 victory.
His manager elaborated after the game to the press, saying, "Roberto worked the entire offseason on trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball and the hard work is paying off in base hits."
"That's what I'm trying to do," Aguilera said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
R. Aguilera doubled in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off T. Parkinson in the 10th.
So far in 2015, Aguilera is batting .268 with 10 home runs and 73 RBIs. |  | Monday, September 7th, 2015: Garza Clips Cardinals for Cycle Cubs right fielder Oliver Garza made big news today in the Chicago (N) 15-0 victory over St. Louis. He was 4-for-6 at the plate and hit for the cycle.
O. Garza hit a solo-shot off M. Kirby in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, flied out in the 6th, tripled in the 8th and grounded out in the 9th.
So far this season Garza has gotten 104 hits in 311 at-bats for a .334 batting average with 10 home runs. His stats include 54 RBIs and 48 runs scored.
