| Breaking News | | Tuesday, October 13th, 2015: Players Suspended in Orioles-Indians Donnybrook You would have thought you were at a hockey game yesterday at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. A free-for-all broke out when Adam Dunn of Baltimore and Duane Below of Cleveland rushed one another on the field and had to be restrained by umpires and teammates. Few blows landed, but it was enough for them to be ejected from the game.
Today both teams received notification from the league office that the two players would be suspended for 3 games.
On the season, Dunn is batting .266 with 35 home runs and 113 RBIs. He has played in 138 games.
In the 2015 season Below has recorded a 14-10 mark. In 26 starts he has fanned 153 batters in 182.2 innings with a 3.50 ERA. | | Monday, September 21st, 2015: Indians Jenkins Suspended 3 Games The league commissioner has zero tolerance when it comes to touching an umpire. That's the reason Wes Jenkins of the Indians has been given a 3-game suspension. He apparently made too much contact with the home plate umpire while intensely questioning a called strike in a recent game at Jacobs Field with the Detroit Tigers.
Jenkins said he would not appeal and would serve his suspension beginning today.
In his stats this season, Jenkins has posted a batting average of .263 with 152 hits in 577 at-bats, 4 home runs and 78 RBIs. He has also scored 92 runs, walked 44 times and compiled a .314 OBP. | | Tuesday, September 15th, 2015: Reynolds Hits for the Cycle You might say Carl Reynolds wore out his welcome with the Los Angeles (A) Angels. The shortstop gave them fits in today's 8-0 Cleveland victory by hitting for the cycle. "To hit for the cycle" is one of the rarest of feats in a baseball game. This occurs when a player hits a single, double, triple and homerun in the same game, getting every type of hit possible. Reynolds ended the day with 4 hits in 4 at-bats, 3 runs batted in and 4 runs scored.
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, he said, "After the first three hits, I thought to myself, This could be the game I hit for the cycle. And I got lucky and did it."
C. Reynolds singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off M. O'Quinn in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 6th and tripled in the 8th.
This season Reynolds is batting .349 with 13 home runs. He has scored 67 runs and driven in 44. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | P Jack Smith | back spasms | 5 months | 6 day(s) left (60-day DL) | | P Erik Murray | ruptured disc (back) | 3 months | On DL, eligible for return | | P Ben French | torn tricep muscle | 6-7 months | On DL, eligible for return | | 1B Justin Morneau | torn anterior cruciate ligament | 6-7 months | On DL, eligible for return (60-day DL) | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 99-63, .611 PCT | | Position in Division | 1st, - GB | | Record at home | 53-28, .654 PCT | | Record on the road | 46-35, .568 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 4-7, .364 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 28-24, .538 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 49-25, .662 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 50-38, .568 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 2-8, .200 PCT | | Record in April | 15-7, .682 PCT | | Record in May | 18-11, .621 PCT | | Record in June | 18-10, .643 PCT | | Record in July | 14-10, .583 PCT | | Record in August | 19-10, .655 PCT | | Record in September | 14-12, .538 PCT | | Record in October | 1-3, .250 PCT |
