| Breaking News |  | Friday, September 25th, 2015: Season May Be Over for Tigers Hernandez The doctors have spoken and Gorkys Hernandez of the Detroit Tigers didn't like what he heard. The 28-year-old center fielder is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Hernandez sustained his season-ending injury during the Seattle Mariners game yesterday at Comerica Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while being hit by a pitch. Today the Detroit medical staff reported Hernandez had a fractured skull and would be absent from the lineup for at least 7 months.
