Friday, September 25th, 2015: Season May Be Over for Tigers Hernandez
The doctors have spoken and Gorkys Hernandez of the Detroit Tigers didn't like what he heard. The 28-year-old center fielder is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Hernandez sustained his season-ending injury during the Seattle Mariners game yesterday at Comerica Park. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while being hit by a pitch. Today the Detroit medical staff reported Hernandez had a fractured skull and would be absent from the lineup for at least 7 months.

This year Hernandez is hitting .285 with 5 home runs.
Monday, September 14th, 2015: Hernandez Picked AL Player of the Week
There's nothing like being in the prime of your baseball career -- and playing like it. Just ask Gorkys Hernandez, the Detroit center fielder, who swung a sweet bat all week to not only aid his team, but also pick up the American League Player of the Week honors.

Hernandez piled up 17 hits in 35 at-bats, 1 home run and 7 RBIs while hitting .486.

This season Hernandez is hitting .292 with 135 hits, 5 home runs, 69 RBIs, scored 64 runs and played in 127 games.
Thursday, August 20th, 2015: 20 Games in a Row for Franklin
Today at Hubert H Humphrey Metrodome Minnesota lost to Detroit 4-3, but Trent Franklin kept his consecutive-game hitting streak alive with 1 hit. The Twins third baseman has now delivered hits in 20 straight games.
T. Franklin singled in the 1st, grounded out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and walked in the 8th.

So far this season Franklin is hitting .341 with 7 home runs, 56 RBIs and 47 runs scored. He has 102 hits in 299 at-bats and a .406 OBP.
