| Breaking News |  | Friday, October 16th, 2015: LF Lastings Milledge Out Philadelphia fans will be disappointed to learn that Lastings Milledge developed a hyperextended knee while running the bases in today's game. After the doctor informed the Philadelphia Phillies manager that Milledge was expected to miss 4 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the left fielder could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
Batting .276 to date, Milledge has 7 home runs and 50 RBIs. |  | Thursday, October 1st, 2015: National League Names Rookie of Month Ed McGuire was toddling around on his tricycle when some of the guys he's playing against were in their prime, but the 24-year-old first baseman definitely knows how to get to first, second or beyond. Today he was chosen September's National League Rookie of the Month for his remarkable month of hitting.
In 26 games McGuire batted .431 for Philadelphia, slapping 44 hits in 102 at-bats with 1 home run, drove in 24 runs and scored 19 times.
In 155 games this season McGuire is batting .366 with 230 hits and 4 home runs. He has scored 122 runs and driven in 108. |  | Monday, September 21st, 2015: Mitchell Belts 5 Hits Travis Mitchell had an answer for everything the Philadelphia Phillies threw him today in the St. Louis 6-5 triumph at Busch Stadium III. He made good contact 5 times and 5 times he drilled the ball for a base hit.
The St. Louis center fielder went 5 for 5 in the game to put his name in the record book.
Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Mitchell said, "I just see the ball and I hit it."
T. Mitchell singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off M. Lewis in the 9th.
