Monday, April 28th, 2014: Star of the Week Picked in NL
This week Danny Putnam, right fielder for the San Diego Padres, slashed, mashed and bashed his way to the National League Player of the Week trophy.

Putnam put up a .609 average as he pounded out 14 hits, 4 home runs, 11 RBIs and scored 6 runs.

Thus far in 2014 Putnam is hitting .424 with 4 home runs, 15 RBIs, 11 runs scored and has compiled a .458 OBP.

Tuesday, April 22nd, 2014: Ambriz Holds San Francisco Scoreless
Hector Ambriz humbled the San Francisco Giants today at Petco Park. In the 11-0 shutout win, he yielded 5 hits, fanned 6 and walked 1 to pace the San Diego Padres to victory.

Thursday, April 17th, 2014: Super Swinger -- Gonzalez Slams 5 Hits
Carlos Gonzalez told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard."

Well, that's just what Gonzalez of the Arizona Diamondbacks did against the San Diego Padres. He went to the plate 5 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Padres, who suffered a 11-9 defeat.

"Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us."

C. Gonzalez singled in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 7th.

In 2014 Gonzalez is batting .346 with 1 home run.
