Thursday, June 12th, 2014: Astros Chill Smith's Hot Streak
Ryan Smith, shortstop for the San Francisco Giants, gave it a good try, but his day in history finally came to an end, when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Houston Astros. Not only had they stopped his 25-game hitting streak, they had beaten San Francisco 6-5, too.

Speaking with the media after the game, Smith said, "Now that the streak has ended, I admit I will breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat. It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."

In the 2014 season Smith has hit .345 with 20 home runs, 55 RBIs and scored 46 runs.
