Tuesday, September 22nd, 2015: Swisher Gone for Season in St. Louis
The season is finished for Nick Swisher of the St. Louis Cardinals. The club announced today that he will forego the rest of the year because of injury. The Cardinals left fielder suffered a fractured ulna while making a defensive play in a recent game against the Philadelphia Phillies. Team doctors said it would take at least 5 weeks to heal.

Swisher is presently batting .226 with 27 home runs, 76 runs scored and 84 RBIs. His OBP is .358.
Monday, September 21st, 2015: Mitchell Belts 5 Hits
Travis Mitchell had an answer for everything the Philadelphia Phillies threw him today in the St. Louis 6-5 triumph at Busch Stadium III. He made good contact 5 times and 5 times he drilled the ball for a base hit.

The St. Louis center fielder went 5 for 5 in the game to put his name in the record book.

Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Mitchell said, "I just see the ball and I hit it."

T. Mitchell singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off M. Lewis in the 9th.

Mitchell is hitting .238 in 2015 with 8 home runs, 66 RBIs and 55 runs scored. He has 111 hits in 467 at-bats and played in 121 games.
Friday, September 11th, 2015: Rich Spins Shutout
The Cardinals can take comfort in knowing that they will not have to face Dan Rich again for a while. The 23-year-old hurler pitched a 5-hit shutout to help the New York (N) Mets beat St. Louis 5-0. In the process, Rich struck out 9 and walked 1.

Rich has posted a 13-9 record in 2015 with a 3.46 ERA. Teams are hitting .227 against him and he has rung up 192 strikeouts in 205.1 innings.
